Art Trek Membership Program

The CIAA has an exciting membership program for kids ages 5-12 called ArtTrek.  The mission of this program is to encourage and capture the creativity that so abounds in kids.  Our experienced and talented teachers' caring attitude and love of art helps children gain confidence and increase skill level. Cost for the Art Trek Membership program is only $10 per year and has many benefits.

Researchers have found that participating in the arts is good for you. 

•  Students who participate score higher on SAT tests regardless of socio?economic status
•  Youth in low income areas who participate are more likely to be high academic achievers, elected to   class office, participate in math and science fairs , win academic awards
•  Helps prevent young children from making later negative choices
•  Increases attention span, commitment, and tolerance
•  Effective intervention for troubled youth improving attitudes, behavior, academic performance, communication skills, and decreasing delinquent behavior

 Benefits of being an Art Trek member:

• 6 free Art Trek workshops throughout the year.
• All members receive a 10% discount on cost of classes and art materials from the art supply shop.
• Each member receives an Art Packet that includes materials such as mini sketch pad, drawing pencil,  eraser, etc.
• Art Trek members will receive a monthly newsletter addressed to them with project ideas
• Members receive a membership certificate.

 About the workshops:

• Workshops will run from 5:30-7:00pm almost always on a Monday evening.
• Intermission for juice and snacks
• Children will create two projects each session.
• A Parent, Grandparent, or Guardian must be there with the child.
• Once a year we have one free workshop that is open to any child.  This workshop is always held in August.
• A membership is not required to attend the workshop; however the cost for one workshop is $5.00.

You may have noticed that we like to take pictures of the children working on their projects. We like to send the picture with a short article to the newspaper so that others in the community can discover our program. If you have any objections to your child’s picture being published, please let us know.
